Meganisi – A Secret Paradise
Situated just off the east coast of the island a still unexplored paradise receives its visitors with traditional Greek hospitality. Still untouched in many areas it offers an ideal environment for those who are looking for a peaceful break far from the hustle of cosmopolitan Nydri.

The landscape is enchanting and combines the green of olive trees and other plants, the turquoise crystal clear waters, endless embroidered coastline and is surrounded by the other islands of the small group known as the Prinkiponissa including the islands of Scorpios- the island of Aristotle Onassis, -, Skorpidi, Sparta, Madouri the island of the national poet - Aristotle Valaoriti, Thiglia, Cheloni and Kythro.

It is worth either hiring a small boat for the day to explore the area alternatively take a trip on one of the cruise ships that set off from Nidri and take you on a tour of the islands including the Cave of Papanikoli – a small but historical cave on the southern side of Meganisi. Beaches on Meganisi that warrant a visit are Ag-Yannis, Spilia, Faros, Atherinos and Limonari.

The three hamlets that are found on Meganisi are beautiful and as you wander through the small alleys during the evenings you see an authentic and traditional Greek lifestyle. Here you will find traditional shops, tavernas and cafeterias.
